1.8 mln euro planned for Lithuanian MPs’ severance pay

Over 1.8 million euros have been reserved for Lithuanian MPs who lose their mandates in the upcoming elections, as well as their assistants and secretaries, Lietuvos Zinios daily said. The severance pays to MPs whose mandate will expire is determined by the Seimas statute. MPs receive a severance pay that equals average monthly wages multiplied by the number of years of his uninterrupted term in parliament.
