14,600 households still without electricity in Estonia

TALLINN - While the electricity distribution system operator Elektrilevi has eliminated the majority of disruptions caused by a storm on Sunday, over 14,600 consumers were still without power on Tuesday morning.

As at 6:21 a.m. disruptions across Estonia numbered 138, as a result of which, altogether 14,663 consumers were without electricity -- 5,133 in Polva County, 3,032 in Voru County, 2,741 in Viljandi County, 1,569 in Viljandi County and 1,180 in Tartu County, the company said. The number of consumption points without power in other counties was significantly lower.

The blackouts were caused by a storm, which broke out on Sunday and left a total of 60,000 consumers without electricity.
