Tallink Silja Line’s autumn entertainment programme gets off to a flying start in September: the cruise ships will host a two-month-long Spanish Festival at Sea, whilst beloved artists will perform on special cruises on various routes.
While summer may end in August, it is far from over on Tallink Silja Line’s vessels. From September to November, the cruise ships host a Spanish festival, offering a themed atmosphere, Spanish cuisine and drinks, and a specially created show programme.
“We want to give people a reason to come out to sea even when the main festival season is ending, but they’re not quite ready to let go of that summery feeling. The Spanish Festival at Sea extends that lovely summer feeling, turning the entire cruise into one big experience from the moment you step on board. The fiesta atmosphere is created by characteristic colours, authentic flavours, and Spanish artists,” said Kairi Maidla, Head of Entertainment at Tallink Grupp.
At the heart of the festival are four different specially created show programmes. On the Silja Serenade, the internationally renowned choreographer and dancer Marcos Ayala will perform, while on the Silja Symphony and the Baltic Queen, the Spanish entertainment agency Romantic Corporate will bring themed shows to the audience. The performances range from traditional flamenco and street fiestas to contemporary rhythms and the nightlife of Ibiza.
The festival atmosphere also extends to the on-board restaurants, where a range of Spanish-style dishes are served, including authentic Serrano ham, chorizo, Manchego cheese, tortilla española, patatas bravas, seafood paella and much more. The bars offer sangria and special festival cocktails. The children's programme will also have a Spanish theme throughout the festival.
“High-quality entertainment gives the whole cruise its own character and atmosphere, offering travellers of all ages experiences that they simply wouldn’t have on a regular trip. This autumn's selection is particularly varied, as we have both a Spanish festival and a strong line-up of artists on board at the same time," added Maidla.
Another highlight of the autumn is the special cruises featuring star artists on almost every route Tallink Silja Line operates. This year's onboard programmes feature many acclaimed artists, including nublu, 2 Quick Start, Smilers from Estonia, Erika Vikman, Mirella, Pete Parkkonen, YÖ, costee from Finland, and Felicia from Sweden, to name a few.
Tallink Silja Line’s autumn entertainment programme runs throughout September, October and November, offering plenty of reasons to head out to sea even after the summer peak season has ended.
