Simple Session, an international extreme sports event running for 26 consecutive years, is heading to city streets in two countries at once this year. Over 30 top international BMX riders from 18 countries will meet in Tallinn on 19–20 August and in Riga on 22–23 August to show off the boldest tricks of the street discipline amid the summer buzz of the city.
Founded in Tartu, Estonia in 2000, Simple Session has grown into a festival known throughout the global BMX and skateboarding community. In 2026, the event turns its focus to BMX street riding, trading the large competition arena for an experience set directly within the urban environments of Tallinn and Riga.
"Over the years, Simple Session has proven that the best events are the ones where we've dared to try new formats. This year we're running the Session in two countries at once and focusing mainly on one discipline. BMX street riding deserves our full attention and the chance to give spectators an awesome show. Riga will also feature a local skateboarding competition," said Simple Session's head organiser, Risto Kalmre.
From the competitions at Balta hoov and around the city in Tallinn, riders will travel on to Riga for the ROW Baltics street culture festival, of which Simple Session is a part for the first time this year. Street-style BMX ramps will be set up to showcase this extreme sport at its highest level.
International riders arriving for the event include Garrett Reynolds, Reed Stark, and Billy Perry from the USA, Sasha Cambon from France, Joe Jarvis from United Kingdom, and Sisuke Hayata from Japan, along with many other leading figures in the sport.
Both cities can expect two days of thrilling extreme sports, evening parties, and film screenings. Both cash prizes and prizes provided by sponsors will be awarded during the head-to-head rider competitions. Simple Session Street Series 2026 events are free of charge for spectators.
