TALLINN - The Russian border service have apprehended Cuban citizens who attempted to cross the border to Estonia on air mattresses.
The FSB regional border department said that three people were planning to swim across the Narva river on air mattresses, according to RIA Novosti news agency. The foreigners had bags with personal belongings and hygiene products, as well as identity documents.
The three Cuban nationals were hoping to cross the border between Russia and Estonia and then leave for Spain, where the relatives of one of the detainees are believed to live. Instead, fines are to be handed to them along with precepts to leave Russia.
