RIGA - The Riga budget's revenue this year will be EUR 8.61 million smaller than projected, while budget spending will be smaller by EUR 33.44 million, according to amendments prepared by the Riga City Council's Financial and Transport Affairs Committee.

The committee is meeting today to review the amendments.

At the beginning of the year, the Riga City Council was planning that budget revenue this year would amount to EUR 972.64 million, but the amendments cut the revenue projection to EUR 963.77 million.

Budget spending was projected at EUR 1.083 billion, now the spending projection has been reduced to EUR 1.050 billion.

The amendments stipulate that EUR 1.5 million will be allotted to Rigas Satiksme public transport company, although the company previously sought EUR 2.9 million in additional financing from the Riga City Council.
