President Vejonis in Father's Day speech wishes dads to have more time to spend with kids

RIGA - Greeting all dads and granddads on Father’s Day, President Vejonis wished them to have more time to spend with their children and grandchildren.

As LETA was told at the president’s office, Vejonis noted in his Father’s Day greetings that Latvia is marking its centenary this year and that this would not have been possible without strong families and extended families were strong fathers have been playing a major role.

“Father is our support and mentor. He is the one who teaches us to distinguish between right and wrong, who teaches us to love our motherland and be proud of our country,” the president said.

On Father’s Day, the president wished all dads and granddads to have more time to spend with their offspring. “May this time be fulfilled, may your gifts be carefully kept and passed on!” said Vejonis.
