RIGA - Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) calls on Justice Minister Janis Bordans, who is also the leader of the New Conservative Party, to ''do his own homework'' before criticizing other government ministers.
Commenting the frequent accusations made by Bordans against KPV LV ministers, especially Economy Minister Ralfs Nemiro, Karins told TV3 this morning that this reminds him of his school days, where there was a boy who constantly told on everyone to draw attention to himself, even though he himself had not completed his own homework.
According to Karins, the situation within the government is similar at the moment. The prime minister calls on Bordans to pay more attention to work in his own sphere, where, for example, concrete proposals have not yet been put forward to shorten court processes.
Karins admitted that it is not easy working within a five-party coalition, and that the situation is being destabilized even more due to the upcoming emergency Riga City Council elections.
As reported, Minister Bordans and Minister Nemiro have been having a public spat in recent months, with the most recent accusations made against Nemiro by Bordans in connection with the Economy Minister's attempts to place his adviser Pavels Rebenoks on boards of various state-owned companies, including Latvenergo and the Freeport of Riga.
Rebenoks recalled his candidacy from the board of Latvenergo recently, but has been appointed as the Economy Ministry's representative on the board of the Freeport of Riga.
