RIGA - Attendees of American rapper Pitbull’s concert have the right to choose between accepting the organizers’ offer to attend another concert or receiving a refund, the Consumer Rights Protection Center (PTAC) informed LETA.

PTAC notes that, in connection with the cancellation of Pitbull’s concert, detailed information regarding the ticket refund process will be provided within two days.

At the same time, ticket holders are being offered the opportunity to exchange their Pitbull concert tickets for tickets to a concert by electronic music artist Calvin Harris, which will take place on August 6.

"In the event of a canceled event, consumers have the right to choose the solution that best suits them. If a consumer does not wish to accept the alternative offered by the organizer, they have the right to request a refund of the amount paid. We urge consumers to carefully follow the information provided by the organizer and to keep all correspondence related to ticket purchases and refund requests," emphasizes PTAC Director Zaiga Liepina.

As reported, it was announced on Tuesday evening that the concert by American rapper Pitbull, scheduled for Wednesday at the Mezaparks Grand Stage, has been canceled.

On Thursday, Girts Majors, a representative of the organizers of both events, revealed in an interview with LTV that the concert was canceled due to concerns about the safety of the stage structure. There are still many unanswered questions regarding the specific details and responsibility. Various expert assessments will be conducted to clarify the matter.

When asked whether the technical problems discovered with the stage could not have been fixed in time for the start of the planned Pitbull concert, Majors replied that this would certainly have been done if such a possibility had existed.
