RIGA - The current pandemic of the unvaccinated has been caused by political parties that still continue to oppose vaccination, Ainars Latkovskis, head of New Unity's Saeima group, told LETA.
The parties that object to Covid-19 vaccination keep misleading people by spreading false news about vaccination, said Latkovskis.
When asked about new restrictions, Latkovskis emphasized that a lockdown would not be the right solution as a lockdown would be just a temporary solution. "The only and the right solution is vaccination," he stressed.
Whether new restrictions are to be introduced will be decided by the government in consultation with experts from different areas, to see how restrictions or a lockdown would affect families, educational institutions, national economy, people's incomes and budget revenues.
As reported, Health Minister Daniels Pavluts (For Development/For) has called on the coalition to discuss much tougher Covid-19 restrictions.
