RIGA - In order to help people avoid going to public places, Internet platform has been created to bring together Latvian food retail sale companies that offer home delivery, representatives of Pacel Latviju (Raise Latvia) movement informed LETA.

Pacel Latviju representatives explain that, due to the current emergency situation where people are not advised to visit public places, increasingly more people are looking for opportunities to buy the products they need without going to supermarkets. The largest retail chains also have online stores, but they do not offer deliveries to the regions, which means that various local online stores that can deliver products to recipients outside Riga are becoming increasingly popular.

This is why Pacel Latviju has created the new platform,, which brings together online stores and farms to ensure the delivery of goods to customers at home, in Riga and elsewhere in Latvia.

The author of the idea, Janis Rozitis says that, while working with different Latvian food producers, he saw that there was no single place for all producers who can deliver their goods to customers. This is especially important not only for Riga residents, but also for those living in the regions.

The aim is to offer the public more options to buy food grown and produced in Latvia, thereby also supporting local farmers and producers. In addition, the new platform will improve protection from Covid-19, for both customers and merchants.

The site is still under construction, but farms and retail outlets that meet the requirements can fill out the form on the website to be join the initiative.
