RIGA - The Night of Museums will be taking place at 190 venues across Latvia this year, Culture Minister Dace Melbarde (National Alliance) told reporters on Tuesday.
This year, the Bugler of Talava is the theme for the Night of Museums.
69 cultural sites in Riga will be taking part in the Night of Museums this year, or eight sites fewer than in 2018, said Melbarde. The Night of Museums will be marked at 41 sites in Vidzeme province, 38 sites in Kurzeme, 28 in Latgale and 14 in Zemgale.
Melbarde expects that about 200,000 people will turn out for the Night of Museums, which is approximately the same as in 2018. There are several factors that0 may impact the number, for instance, the weather, added Melbarde.
The Night of Museums is an event that takes place in museums all throughout Europe. The event usually takes place from Saturday night to early Sunday morning, and sometimes even longer.
