RIGA - Latvian President Egils Levits and President of Moldova Igor Dodon discussed bilateral relations and current cooperation between Latvia and Moldova during a phone call today, LETA learned from the President's Chancellery.
Levits congratulated President Dodon on Moldova’s Independence Day, which will be celebrated tomorrow.
Presidents of both countries confirmed mutual interest in expanding bilateral cooperation once the Coronavirus crisis is over and praised the European Union (EU) for successful dialogue with Moldova in scope of the EU’s Eastern Partnership. President Dodon invited Levits to visit Moldova next year to further discuss the deepening of bilateral cooperation.
Levits and Dodon also exchanged information on how countries are coping with the spreading of COVID-19 virus. President Dodon thanked Latvia for supporting Moldova in its efforts to contain the novel Coronavirus.
