VILNIUS — Lithuania expects to receive in the near future explanations from Belarus as to the Astravyets nuclear power plant under construction close to the nations’ shared border, Environment Minister Kestutis Treciokas said on Thursday.
According to the minister, Lithuania is ready to constructively deal with the project’s environmental impact assessment problems and has already sent to Belarus a draft bilateral agreement on the implementation of the Espoo Convention.
