Lithuania's State Defense Council to discuss coronavirus situation, intelligence reports

VILNIUS – Lithuania's State Defense Council is set on Friday to hold a meeting at the Ministry of National Defense and discuss the coronavirus and the intelligence services' last year's reports.

The coronavirus situation will be presented by Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga, presidential spokesman Antanas Bubnelis told BNS, and also the State Security Department and the Second Investigation Department under the Ministry of National Defense will present their reports.

The meeting will be followed by comments to the press.

The State Defense Council discusses and coordinates key defense issues in the state, including state institutions' actions on ensuring the state's most important issues related to security and defense.

The Council involves the president, prime minister, speaker of the Seimas, defense ministers, chief of defense. The Council is chaired by the president.
