Latvia drawn in one group with Serbia, Czech Republic, Turkey, Estonia and Portugal for EuroBasket 2025

RIGA - The Latvian national men's basketball team will play in one group with Serbia, Czech Republic, Turkey, Estonia and Portugal at the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 in Riga, as determined at the EuroBasket draw that took place at Riga on Thursday.

Latvia will play Turkey on August 27, Estonia on August 29, Serbia on August 30, Portugal on September 1 and the Czech Republic on September 3. All matches will start at 6 p.m.

Group B will be made up of Germany, Lithuania, Montenegro, Finland, Great Britain and Sweden. Group B matches will be played in Tampere, Finland.

Group C will include Spain, Greece, Italy, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Cyprus. Group C matches will be played in Limassol, Cyprus.

Group D will be made up of France, Slovenia, Poland, Israel, Belgium and Iceland. Group D matches will be played in Katowice, Poland.

According to FIBA, the four co-hosts were pre-assigned to their respective groups with Group A played in Riga, Group B in Tampere, Group C in Limassol, and Group D in Katowice.

Each co-host was also able to select a partner country to be placed in the same group with agreements reached between Latvia and Estonia, Finland and Lithuania, Cyprus and Greece as well as Poland and Iceland.

FIBA EuroBasket 2025 gets underway with the group phase played from August 27 to September 5, before the final phase is held solely in Riga from September 6 to 14.

Former Greek player Nikos Zisis and former Spanish player Rudy Fernandez assisted in drawing the teams into their respective groups at the ceremony in Riga today.
