RIGA - Even though recently many people have rejected AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines, Latvia is not currently considering a possibility to allow people to choose among vaccines, said Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) in an interview with the Latvian public television today.

He said that so far he trusts what specialists say that the risks for AstraZeneca vaccines are very low, and it is much safer to get vaccinated with any vaccine than contract Covid-19.

At the same time, the prime minister said that this quarter AstraZeneca vaccine is not planned as the main vaccine as there are larger deliveries of Pfizer vaccines expected, as well as Moderna and Janssen.

As reported, many people who had registered for vaccination refused to do it during holidays or rejected AstraZeneca vaccine, which laid obstacles for successful operation of mass vaccination centers, said Health Minister Daniels Pavluts in an interview with the Latvian public television on Tuesday.
