RIGA - The Foreign Ministry is providing support to the relatives of the mountain climbers who died in the Alps in preparing the necessary documents for their repatriation, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Solvita Martinsone told LETA.

As reported, two Latvians - a woman and a man - died last week while attempting to climb the highest the highest peak in the Alps, according to information available on the social networks.

Orienteering amateurs Vita Skuja and Janis Dreimanis had traveled to the Alps to conquer Mont Blanc.

No further information about the circumstances of the accident is available for now.
