The high popularity among Lithuanian travellers is due to its affordability, unique experiences, and direct flight options.

Sabina Saikovskaja, CEO of Join UP! Baltic, notes, "Our first flights and the closest next flights to Sri Lanka were fully sold-out in Lithuania right after launching them in December. To meet the heightened interest, we will organize six additional tours with direct flights to the island for Lithuanian travellers in February and March.”

“We see that this destination fully meets the needs of Lithuanian travellers – it is affordable destination, 9+1 days travel package for two starts from around €1000 per person, covering the flight and hotel. Also, it offers completely new exotic experience, and is easily accessible - with the direct flight. Moreover, the high season with summer-like weather is currently present in Sri Lanka's west and south coasts, making it ideal for beach holidays and exploration, with air temperatures ranging from 25-29 degrees and water temperatures around 26-29 degrees,” highlights S.Saikovskaja.

Join UP! Baltic launched the first direct flight to Sri Lanka from Vilnius on December 21st, 2023. The flight duration is approximately 12 hours, with a 1-hour stop for refueling in Bahrain. Arrival is at Mattala, located in the south of the island, where the majority of the most significant landmarks are situated.

“We entered the Lithuanian market by offering the most popular destinations and a clear commitment to provide new travel opportunities for Lithuanians and develop the tourism market. Last year, we introduced Montenegro, which gained stable positions – Join UP! Baltic is organizing tours to it again this year. The addition of Sri Lanka diversifies Join UP! Baltic's portfolio, meeting evolving travel preferences,” notes S.Saikovskaja.
