LOS ANGELES - The US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the films that have made it to Oscars' shortlist, and Latvian Gints Zilbalodis' animated film Flow (Straume) has been included among the 15 best international feature films.
Vote on nominees in all 23 categories will start on January 8 and complete on January 12. Nominees will be announced on January 17.
Flow has already collected a number of awards at film festivals and awards ceremonies around the world. As reported, on December 9, Flow was nominated for the Golden Globes Award in the category Best Animated Feature Film.
Flow also received the European Film Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film at a ceremony in Lucerne, Switzerland.
The feature-length film Flow is an animation that tells the story of a cat who loses his home due to a flood and ends up in a small boat, where he is forced to cooperate with other animals in order to survive.
