RIGA - The EUR 10 billion earmarked for Latvia from the EU funds will be historically the largest available sum, said Finance Ministry's deputy state secretary Armands Eberhards in an interview with LETA.

He said that the new financial perspective, from 2021 until 2027, will be with the historically largest available financing for Latvia as an EU member state - EUR 10 billion, including EUR 4.6 billion from the structural funds cohesion policy instruments and EUR 1.8 billion from the European Recovery and Resilience Facility.

According to the expert, the EU structural funds will have five main goals, smarter Europe, greener Europe, connected Europe, social Europe and Europe closer to citizens.

He said that the structural funds regulation will be adopted this summer.
