TALLINN - The Estonian parliament is to start amending on Monday the State Budget Act in accordance with needs caused by the coronavirus crisis.
The government-initiated bill seeking to amend the State Budget Act is related to the implementation of the 2021 supplementary budget. Firstly, the option to enter into contracts under public law relating to the implementation of domestic support programs will be expanded with resources under the relevant ministry's authority to include foundations established with state participation.
Secondly, the law will be supplemented with a new section establishing general conditions for support programs aimed at mitigating the crisis relating to the the spread of the virus causing COVID-19.
First reading of the amendments to the State Budget Act will take place in the Riigikogu on Monday.
