Estonia tells Russia it is ready to move forward with ratifying border treaties

TALLINN - The foreign ministries of Estonia and Russia held regular political consultations in Tallinn on Wednesday; among other things, Estonia affirmed its readiness to move forward with ratifying the border treaties.

The objective of the consultations was to discuss bilateral relations and the challenges of international affairs and regional security.  

On the topic of bilateral relations of Estonia and Russia, both sides agreed that there was good cooperation in several areas, such as culture, cross-border cooperation, the protection and sustainable use of transboundary waters and advancing people-to-people contacts. The meeting also covered the border treaties of Estonia and Russia. Estonia is ready to move forward with ratifying the border treaties.

Previous political consultations between the foreign ministries of Estonia and Russia were held in 2019 in Moscow.
