Estonia announces EUR 10 mln tender to find organizer of coronavirus testing

TALLINN – The State Shared Service Center has announced a tender for a contract for taking samples for coronavirus tests in Estonia and testing the samples for the presence of the virus.

The estimated value of the contract is 10 million euros.

The purpose of the tender is to find the party to be contracted for the organization of the collection of samples across Estonia from target groups determined by the Health Board, the taking of samples, including the provision of the service of a mobile sampling brigade and a special brigade, as well as testing of the samples, it appears from the tender documents.

The service must include the issuance of referrals to patients based on an order list, agreeing about the location for sampling with patients, and the availability and creation of such locations, as well as the provision of the service of a mobile sampling brigade to take samples from patients in their homes, along with the conduct of blanket testing on orders from the Health Board. 

In addition, the service must entail the creation of additional sampling locations and brigades if necessary, transportation of samples, testing of samples, and informing patients about the results of the tests. 

The service is to be provided from the time of the signing of the contract until Dec. 31, 2020 or until the maximum value of the contract has been reached.

The service is financed from the budget of the Health Board. 

The deadline of submissions is before noon on Aug. 6.
