RIGA - The interests of employers, employees and the state need to be taken into account in social dialog, President Edgars Rinkevics said during a meeting with representatives of the Employers' Confederation of Latvia (LDDK) at Riga Castle on Tuesday.

According to the president's advisor Martins Dregeris, Rinkevics and LDDK representatives discussed the state budget for 2026 adopted by Saeima, the social dialog between employers, employees and the government, as well as work on a common Latvian position on the next multiannual budget of the European Union.

The president and LDDK representatives also discussed future labor market challenges and the education system in Latvia.

The essence of social dialog is an open conversation and joint work between the three parties - employers, employees and the government, which implements policies in different sectors, said Rinkevics.

Rinkevics heard LDDK's opinions on a wide range of issues, including efficiency of public administration, cooperation with the government, improving mutual cooperation at the National Tripartite Cooperation Council, and others.
