Corruption watchdog has received signals on alleged forgery of vaccination fact or certificates in exchange for money

RIGA - The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) has noticed and received several signals on alleged foregry on vaccination fact or certificate in exchange for money or other illegal benefits, LETA learned from KNAB.

KNAB does not further comment on these cases.

KNAB said that cases when a medical staff is ready and allows forgery of Covid-19 vaccination certificates are not acceptable. According to the Criminal Law, this offence may bring community work or a fine or deprivation of freedom for a period of up to one year.

If forgery of medical documents has been conducted in exchange for money or other benefits, a jail term of up to four years may be imposed.
