Citizen of Moldova accused of 'flashing' intimate body parts in front of children on streets of Riga and public transport

RIGA - The Prosecutor's Office has sent a criminal case to the Riga City Court in which a citizen of Moldova is accused of "flashing" his intimate body parts in front of underage girls, LETA was informed by the Prosecutor's Office.

According to the indictment, between September 23 and October 28, 2024, the man exposed his penis four times on the street and in public transport in Riga and showed it to girls under the age of 14.

In order to identify the man, the State Police posted photographs of the man on social networks. Thanks to the active participation of the public, the man was quickly identified and arrested on October 31, 2024, after which the judge remanded him in custody.

During the pre-trial proceedings, the man did not admit his guilt and testified that he was under the influence of alcohol and forgot to zip the front of his trousers.

The man has no previous convictions.

The Criminal Code provides for a penalty of up to seven years imprisonment and probation supervision for up to five years if convicted.
