RIGA - This year, 80 children and young people under the age of 20 died in Latvia by the end of August, according to information compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau.
Most of them - 34 - were young people aged 15-19.
31 were children under the age of four, while nine children in Latvia were aged between 10 and 14 by the end of August this year. Six of the deceased were children aged five to nine.
Of all the children and young people who died this year to the end of August, 46 were boys and 34 were girls.
