RIGA - 23 families have returned to Latvia's western Kurzeme Province as part of the Latvian Values re-emigration program, the project's coordinator Kristine Smilga said today.
These 62 persons have re-emigrated back to Latvia and are currently living in Ventspils, Liepaja, Talsi Region and Grobina.
Smilga explained that approximately 280 people have contacted her about re-emigrating back to Latvia, while individual offers have been prepared for 251 persons, which is a total of 88 families.
She added that approximately 20 other families plan on returning to live in Kurzeme within the next several months.
This re-emigration project is supported by the Environmental Protection and Regional Development Ministry.
