Division II leaders Tartu Rock trounced seventh-place Atletas on Feb. 20 in an SEB Basketball League game on Atletas' home court in Kaunas, finishing up with a score of 98 to 60. The win marks the ninth in a row for Rock, who go on next week to play Nevezis from Kedainiai on Feb. 23. The Tartu team is only two wins away from their division's play-off spot. Atletas are faring far worse with 2 wins and 8 losses, but may have better luck on Feb. 27 in their match against fifth place Lacplesa Alus from Valmiera.
Top amateur rugby teams from Tallinn, Riga and St. Petersburg are set to compete in the Estonian capital on Feb. 24 in the first round of the Baltic Cities 07 snow rugby tournament. The tournament will see the teams play in each of the three cities, with points awarded on tries scored, and bonus points for three tries or more away from home.. The game, which coincides the nation's independence day, kicks off in the Tallinn Hippodrome at noon.
