VILNIUS - Parliament adopted amendments to the health-insurance law on April 28, providing compulsory health insurance for juvenile and socially vulnerable foreign citizens using state funds.
After the amendments come into effect, state funds will cover healthcare services for foreign citizens, persons without citizenship who have applied for asylum in Lithuania, and people granted asylum.
Foreign nationals and their children are currently provided with compulsory health insurance if they live (permanently or temporarily) or legally work in the country.
The government has yet to confirm the plan's details and healthcare provisions.
