Sweet Root Restoranas

Located in the very heart of Vilnius Monmartre, Uzupis neighbourhood, Sweet Root for sure is one of the best places for fine wining and dining in Lithuania’s capital that, according to numerous critics’ reviews, does deserve to be awarded a Michelin Star status.

The story of Sweet Root restaurant begins with an appreciation of local tradition, the beautiful seasons of Lithuanian nature, the pure flavour of ingredients, and a desire to bring back a true emotion to the plate. As the name suggests, much of the food features local root vegetables that are used in a variety of ways in combination with meat and fish to create inventive dishes.

The portions are deliberately small, allowing you to choose a number of them in order to taste a variety of different flavours — and you’ll want to when you see the menu! The menu is concise though balanced, changing in line with the rhythm of the four beautiful seasons of Lithuanian nature. It is based on true, natural, only locally sourced produce and patterns derived from traditional Lithuanian cuisine.

One will definitely love the unique desserts, such as caramelised quail egg yolks with pine syrup and sour milk cream. Stylish and tasteful, the Spartan interior only serves to highlight the adventurousness of the food.
The staff is friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable about their food, and they’re waiting for you to give Sweet Root a try and pay a visit at 22, Uzupio Street — not just to eat out, but also to have a new exciting food experience.
