RIGA - MP Vilnis Kirsis will be Unity's Riga mayor candidate in the upcoming municipal elections, the party reported on Thursday.
Party leader Andris Piebalgs said in a press conference today that after listening to the public, the party plans to have an open list of candidates for the Riga elections, which will include various members of non-governmental organisations and associations, in addition to professionals from different sectors. This will ease supervision of the Riga City Council, as it will have specialists from multiple sectors.
