UV radiation level to be at this year's highest level until early July

RIGA - Ultraviolet radiation level in Latvia will be at this year's highest level until early July.

According to data from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center's weather station in Rucava, the UV radiation index increased to level 6 on June 5.

The highest UV radiation index registered in Latvia - 8.4 - was recorded on June 22, 2016. The highest index last year, 8.0 was registered on June 15 and 29.

The UV radiation level is the highest from 12 noon to 3 p.m.
