RIGA - The U.S.-based technology research and consulting company Nielsen Norman Group (NNG) has named the intranet of the Latvian state-owned railway company Latvijas Dzelzcels (Latvian Railway) among the 10 best-designed intranets for 2017.
According to the NNG website, the winners of the 2017 Intranet Design Annual Award include also Bank of America, Encana Corporation, Goldcorp, Goodwill Industries International, IBM Corporation, JetBlue, Kerry Group, Santander Group and Tourism New Zealand.
"The Latvian Railway intranet provides equivalent information, regardless of device, for all site users. The responsive site integrates a variety of systems, making the intranet a single point of entry to everything employees need to do in the course of a day," NNG said.
The representatives of Latvijas Dzelzcels said it had started designing a new intranet in 2014 and had kept improving its functionality in line with the latest IT trends and suggestions from the employees.
The intranet for Latvijas Dzelcels was designed by Wunder Latvia.
Latvijas Dzelzcels reported a profit of EUR 2.067 million on a turnover of EUR 217.799 million for 2015.
