Leonidas Donskis was born on August 13, 1962 in Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR.
Education and professional life
1985 - Graduated from Lithuanian State Conservatoire (now Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater);
1987 - studied philosophy at the University of Vilnius.
1990 - doctorate in Humanities/L.H.D. (Philosophy), Vilnius University, Lithuania.
1999 - doctorate in Social and Moral Philosophy (D.Soc.Sc.), University of Helsinki, Finland;
Has researched and lectured in many counties including USA, Great Britain, Sweden, Hungary and others.
2005-2009 - Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy at Vytautas Magnus University;
Present time - Docent of Social and Moral Philosophy at the University of Helsinki, and as Extraordinary Visiting Professor of Cultural Theory at Tallinn University, Estonia.
2009 - member of the European Parliament from Lithuanian Liberal Movement Party;
Present time - full member of the EU and Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee delegation, as well as, the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the EURONEST. He also is a substitute member of the EU relations with Israel, Moldova and the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly delegations.
