Arturas Zuokas was born on February 21, 1968.
As an independent war reporter worked for Independent Television News in Iraq where he did manage to record the bombing of the Baghdad TV Tower.
2000-2007 - Mayor of Vilnius;
2008-2009 - Member of the Seimas (Parliament of Lithuania);
2011 - Mayor of Vilnius. Jeremy Irons supported Arturas Zuokas during the municipal elections;
Being a Mayor of Vilnius, Zuokas brought to life many ambitious and interesting projects, leading to the city well-being. Among them are the reconstruction of Gediminas Avenue, opening of a new municipal building on the right bank of the Neris River, the launch of the first public electric bike “Rent and Share” system in Europe, named the 'E-orange', opening of the largest furniture retail complex in the Baltic states, IKEA, in 2013.
