The Latvian Asian Chamber Of Commerce (LACC) has recently been established in Riga.

LACC’s main agenda is to promote Latvian trade, investment, and culture, along with student exchanges from various Asian countries, especially from India, in association with LIAA.

Leaders from the LACC and other stakeholders spoke with media representatives, potential investors, leading businessmen and VIPs of Latvia at the Radisson Daugava Hotel in Riga on the 31st of July, 2015.

To celebrate its launch, the LACC hosted an office launch dinner party to promote Latvia as an attractive investment destination for several areas including real estate, tourism, and green technologies for Asian countries.

The Chief Coordinator of the LACC, Ms. Dana Maksimova, said that LACC will be organizing business delegations from Latvia to various Asian countries on a bilateral basis — which will promote trade and business opportunities among Latvia and Asia.

She also said Latvia could be utilized as a “Gateway of Europe” for businessmen under the umbrella of the LACC.

The Latvian Asian Chamber of Commerce is headed by Ambassador Deepak Vohra, who has been the Indian Ambassador to several countries, before he retired from the Indian Foreign Service.

Leading businessmen Virender Bhalla and Rakesh Sachdeva are on the Board of LACC and are active in promoting LACC in India and other Asian Countries.

They said that after the initial establishment of LACC, branch offices of the chamber will soon be set up in India, Kazakhstan, and Russia by the end of 2015.
