RIGA - A four-year-old banking disaster that crashed an emerging economy and resulted in criminal proceedings claimed its third judge last week.Riga District Court Judge Inara Steinerte, who has 23 years experience on the bench, was removed from the Banka Baltija case after a complaint from the defendant, Alexander Lavent, the former chairman of the bank's board.Lavent, who faces charges of embezzlement, forgery of documents and sabotage amongst others, alleged Judge Steinerte was not objective ...
