The much-trumpeted pedophilia scandal has caught unprepared both the public, who had never seen these problems aired so openly before, and politicians, who are now feeling their way towards a "politically correct" response. However, what is even sadder is that it also surprised journalists, whose duty on such occasions is to help society develop the right attitude toward what has happened.
