Bus drivers demand pay increase, threaten to strike

VILNIUS - A planned strike during the wee morning hours of Aug. 17 was barely averted after municipal and transport company officials agreed to work out problems with drivers and their unions. The major issues are drivers' salaries and benefits, and bus companies' promptness in paying salaries.
