in May of next year, although the terminal will launch its operations
in April.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) allocated
a loan for implementation of the project of Noord Natie Ventspils
terminal.
Total volume of a syndicated loan is $20.2 million, and it is partly
issued by EBRD and partly by other banks.
The freight loading quality, particularly that of containers, as well
as security measures will be improved in Latvia and all over the
Baltic Sea region. More private sector representatives will be
involved in the development of the Latvian ports within this project,
thereby facilitating efficient cooperation between state and private
companies in the cargo transportation sector.
Noord Natie Ventspils terminals is a joint-venture of the Belgian
company Noord Natie and the company Ventplac.
