Just because neither Latvia nor Lithuania will find an invitation to the EU in their Christmas stockings this year is no reason for either country to play Chicken Little.After some initial disappointment, Latvia realized just how positive an evaluation it actually received. The European Commission lauded the country's many economic reforms, pointing to steady GDP growth, rapid privatization, a strong banking sector and increased trade with EU countries.
