The total value of property owned by the 100 wealthiest people in Latvia has increased by 300 million euros in one year, a new report shows.

A list of Latvia's top 100 wealthiest people will be revealed next week revealing the richest people in the country.

Latvian Journalist Lato Lapsa told the LETA news agency the list showed steady growth in the country.

"If the average Latvian resident starts to doubt such economic situation comparing it with his or her own personal budget, the situation among millionaires is at least evident,"

Six years ago, the total value of properties owned by the "golden hundred" or TOP 100 wealthiest, was 4.5 billion euros. Two years ago, the figure stood at 2.4 billion euros, last year - EUR 2.52 billion. The figure now stands at 2.8 billion euros

"Is it safe to say that the list has become more or less stable and predictable? Such an assumption would be wrong, taking into account the current geopolitical situation. Thus, the next year's TOP 100 could bring even more surprises," says Vadims Jerosenko, one of the authors of the list.

The full TOP 100 list will be announced at a presentation at "Hotel Bergs" in Riga on November 20, 11 am.
