Latvia to buy military trucks from U.K worth 48 million euros

Latvia will purchase 123 military used track vehicles from the U.K, worth 48 million euros, the defense ministry says.

A new contract finalized by Latvia's Cabnet of Ministers today stated that Latvia would receive the trucks, equipment tools and spare parts in 2016.

The vehicles will be equipped with additional weapons systems, communication devices and other important elements.

The modernization costs are unknown yet, however, the Defense Ministry plans to conclude the modernization process in one year, Defense Ministry spokesperson Kaspars Galkins said.
