U.S. President Barack Obama will visit Estonia later this year, media reports say
Estonia's Foreign Ministry confirmed Obama's visit to Estonia would take place but declined to be drawn on specific dates.
"Obama's visit to Estonia is the visit of Estonia’s close friend and ally. The relations between Estonia and the USA are firm, good and close, and the visit of the United States’ President is a significant event," Estonia's foreign minister Urmas Paet told the Eesti Päevaleht newspaper.
"This is especially true at the current time when Europe and the world are changing fast," Paet added.
Postimees Online report the visit is likely to take place in the beginning of September.
It's not the first time a U.S. President has visited Estonia. In November 2006, George W. Bush visited the Baltic state.
