Lithuania has placed additional sanctions on several Russian citizens following the Ukraine crisis.

The sanctions will impose restrictions on entering Lithuania.

The Ministry said a statement: "Having regard to an intensifying Russia's propaganda policy, seek to ideologically reason and justify Russia's aggression against neighbouring countries, attempts to cause tension and ethnic strife, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has initiated an interinstitutional procedure regarding the inclusion of several citizens of the Russian Federation, whose actions might pose a threat to Lithuania's security or public order, into the list of foreigners, who are banned from entering the Republic of Lithuania."

The identity of these persons has not been made public in accordance with Lithuanian law, the ministry reports.

Latvia earlier this year adopted plans to ban Russian singers Oleg Gazmanov, Joseph Kobzon and Valeria to enter the country.
