Lithuanian passports to include records on ethnicity

The Parliament of Lithuania has adopted amendments to laws on passports allowing records of ethnitcity to be included.

A total 56 members of Parliament voted for the amendments, whilst 11 voted against with 24 abstentions.

Changes to the law initiated by Member of Parliament Mecislovas Zasciurinskas will take effect on January 1 2015. Passports issued before this date will not be subject to this regulation.
