Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra String Ensemble to perform

The String Ensemble of the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, comprising 17 members of the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO), also known as the Taipei Sinfonietta will be performing a collection of Mozart, Schostakovich and Taiwanese folk songs in an upcoming evening concert in the Latvian seaside resort of Jurmala.

Violinist Shien-ta Su will lead the performance. He started with the violin at age five, ultimately graduating from L’Ecole Normal de Musique de Parisin 1986. Soloist Hui-Ying Liu-Tawaststjerna, one of the best-known pianists and pedagogues in Finland today, will also perform. Born in Taiwan, she had subsequently lived in Buenos Aires, New York and Paris, before settling down in Helsinki in 1982.

The concert will be performed: Wednesday, July 16, 7 p.m.in Dubulti (Jurmala), Evangelical Lutheran Church (Baznicas str. 13).
