Estonia moves up in competitiveness ranking

Estonia is in 30th position in the fresh 2014 global competitiveness report from IMD, as compared to its 36th position last year, reports Postimees Online. The previous time Estonia was in the top 30 was in 2008 (23rd place) and its highest place on the list was scored in 2006 (19th).

The list result is based on the states' 2013 economic results and polls of company managers that took place in February-March this year, as well as background information, with in all 338 indicators used.

The top position on the list went to the USA, followed by Switzerland and Singapore. Latvia was at 35th place and Lithuania 34th place.
